LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield men’s over-40 Softball League has announced there are a limited number of open positions available, and anyone who is interested in playing in the league this coming season is encouraged to register online between now and the April 20 deadline on the league’s website at: www.LynnfieldMensSoftball.com/registration.

The league is open to current or former male residents of the town who will be 40 years of age or older at the start of the 2018 season on May 8. Teams play one game a week, primarily on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights with some occasional Friday evening contests, with any makeup games that may be required typically rescheduled on Monday nights.

The cost to play in 2018 is $140 (non-refundable), which includes the $30 Town of Lynnfield Field Assessment Fee.

The Lynnfield men’s over-40 Softball League provides its participants with a recreational and social outlet to play softball during the spring and summer months in a collegial environment, along with an opportunity to expand their friendships and network of contacts. The league uses wooden bats, includes no sliding, and the games are overseen by ASA umpires.
