MELROSE — Marie F. (Boire) Meehan, 76, of Melrose, died at the EPOCH of Melrose on Feb. 22.
Marie was born and raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. She resided in Melrose for 30 years, Epping, NH, for several years and in North Adams for the past 18 months.
Marie worked as a function waitress for the Lord Wakefield in Wakefield, Augustine’s in Saugus and the Ramada Inn in Woburn for over 20 years. She loved cats and animals, had a close group of friends and enjoyed traveling to California, Las Vegas, Hawaii and Florida.
Marie was a dedicated family person and was an avid reader and enjoyed video games, word search puzzles and TV and book mysteries.
Marie was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Meehan for 31 years. She was the loving mother of Debra M. Lucey of North Adams, Robert M. Meehan and his wife Ellen of Wakefield, Steven T. Meehan of Worcester and Joseph A. Meehan and his companion Patty Gosselin of Amesbury. She was the cherished grandmother of Jacquelyn, Daniel, Deena, Spencer, Cross, Jessica, Joseph and Brandon. She was the caring great grandmother of Clark. She was the devoted sister of the late Marilyn Murphy, Ronald Boire, Marie’s twin Frank Boire and Carol Boire. Marie’s beloved cat “Tia.” Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, Feb. 27, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
Burial will be private.
