MELROSE — The Melrose Creative Alliance has published its 2023 Annual Report, marking the all-volunteer group’s achievements this past year and outlining a set of priority initiatives for 2024.

The group meets monthly to distill community input into an actionable set of priorities and initiatives representing the shared voices and vision of over 85 Melrose producers and consumers. In 2023, the Alliance continued its work in support of a City of Melrose application for a State designated Arts & Cultural District. The Alliance maintains a robust arts calendar and e-newsletter, where it posted 616 arts and cultural events in 2023. The group also worked with community partners to host several events, including its second annual Arts Summit, a Mayoral Forum on Arts & Culture and Creative Connect social networking events to help foster collaborations and build resources for the arts community.

A nonprofit group under the Community Coalition of Melrose, the Melrose Creative Alliance supports the local arts and cultural community by helping creative producers and creative consumers connect with one another and with resources. We provide communications tools and services and development and networking opportunities. The Alliance also advocates for the arts to be robustly funded and resourced as part of our city’s economic engine and sense of community.

In 2024, the Creative Alliance plans to continue its work to improve public information and outreach, to make it easier for audiences to find creative offerings and support artists. It will also continue support for any City of Melrose efforts to establish a Cultural District and host another series of events, including a Summit in partnership with the Melrose Chamber of Commerce.
