MELROSE — The City of Melrose invites families to honor their veterans, living or deceased, with an inscribed brick to be placed at the City’s Vietnam Veterans’ Reflection Area Memorial.
The bricks, which are 4” x 8”, honor veterans who served in any war as well as peace. Red bricks denote a Vietnam veteran and gray bricks signify all other service members. The bricks will be inscribed with the veteran’s name, military branch, and dates of service. This information will be read aloud during a future City of Melrose veterans’ remembrance service.
Bricks can be purchased for $150 with a check made out to the “City of Melrose” with “Vietnam Reflection Area” in the memo line. Proceeds support the Veterans Relief Fund which assists local veterans with emergency needs and is administered by the Veterans’ Services Advisory Board.
To order a brick, please complete an order form (available at www.cityofmelrose.org/veterans-services) and submit it to the Veterans’ Services Office on the second floor of the Milano Center at 201 W Foster St, Melrose, MA, 02176. Residents can also receive help, if needed, with filling out the form when visiting the Milano Center.
ALL ORDERS ARE DUE BY March 15, 2024.
Please contact Veterans’ Services at vso@cityofmelrose.org or 781-979-4186 with any questions.
