MEAGHAN DelGENIO
HAMILTON — Melrose native Meaghan DelGenio will be playing the role of Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde, the Musical” from March 14-24 at Stage 284-The Community House in Hamilton.
She recently played the role of Roxie Hart in “Chicago” and Sophie in “Mama Mia” at Stage 284, as well as Beauty in “Beauty and the Beast” at the North Shore Music Theater.
Meaghan has a bachelor of arts degree from Endicott College and master’s degrees in Theater Education and Applied Theater from Emerson College.
Asked why she’s excited about the role is a two-part answer.
She was scheduled to play the leading role of Elle Woods in 2020, her senior year at Endicott College when COVID struck and the world came to a standstill. She feels that this is her time to shine with this powerful cast.
She adds, “It’s a fun show that is very empowering for young people, not just girls and…who doesn’t like the color pink?”.
