MELROSE—Melrose High junior Hunter Adrian didn’t let up all season. And there is no reason to stop now.

The undefeated 113 wrestler earned his third All State title on February 23 at St. John’s Prep by sweeping the field in his weight class to became only the 16th wrestler in state history (and first in Melrose High) to be a three-time All State Champ.

AIN’T NO stopping him now. Hunter Adrian is now a 3 time All State Champion. The junior looks to retain his New England title this weekend too. (Donna Larsson photo)

He won by pinning his opponent Calvin Dalton of Salem at 4:35. He also pinned Jake Varrasso of Braintree to start the day, then Anthony Borelli of Walpole before advancing into finals with a pin over Cam Soda of Burlington.

Teammates Steven MacIntosh and Sean Herbert enjoyed a strong first day of competition before falling by DQs on day two.

Said coach Larry Tremblay. “We had three athletes who delivered with pins and did well, but Hunter went all the way and this team couldn’t be more proud of him. This is a wrestler who should be emulated. He’s the whole package.”

Adrian will compete for an All New England title on Saturday at the Providence Technical Academy.”
