MELROSE — Troop 635 Melrose invites boys and girls ages 11 to 17, along with their parents or guardians, to a Scout Information Night on Monday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Incarnation Parish Hall, 429 Upham Street, Melrose.

Starting early next year the program currently known as Boy Scouts will become Scouts BSA and will be open to both boys and girls ages 11 to 17. There will be separate troops for boys and girls, each with their own adult Scoutmaster and youth leaders. The current Boy Scout Troop 635 Committee is interested in starting a girl troop and is seeking both youths and adults for our existing boy troop and for a new girl troop.

This is the traditional Scouting experience for youths ages 11 to 17 that has been in place for over 100 years. Service, community engagement and leadership development are important parts of the program as youth lead their own fun activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
