A loving family man who was a die-hard basefall fan\
MELROSE — William (Bill) F. Munsey, of Melrose, formerly of Malden, born in Brooklyn, N.Y. passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, on September 1, 2022 at Concord Hospital in New Hampshire surrounded by his family. He was 85 years of age.
First and foremost, Bill felt endless, unconditional love for his family. He was married to the love of his life, Rosemarie, for 64 years. He was present for any event he could attend involving each of his three children.
Bill played an important, and formative role in the lives of each of his eight grandchildren. He was fortunate enough to see seven of his great grandchildren be born and grow.
Bill was a die-hard baseball fan for his entire life, a love he shared with each of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending six months a year at his and Rosemarie’s summer home on Contention Pond in Hillsboro, N.H. He was an avid teacher of swimming and waterskiing. Some of his most significant teachings were the importance of hard work, and striving to reach your potential in all aspects of life.
One of Bill’s most memorable sayings was, “What can you give a man that has everything?”
Bill was the son of John and Florence (Carey) Munsey. Loving father of Darlene MacAskill and her husband Wayne of Litchfield, N.H.; the late John S. Munsey and his wife Patricia of Concord, N.H. and David W. Munsey and his wife Tammy of Concord, N.H. Proud grandfather of John, Ian, Kara, Matthew, Max, Nora, Cameron and Maria. Very proud great grandfather of Zoey, Amelia, Alana, Benjamin, William, Julia and Lily. Caring brother of the late Mildred Egan, Edward Munsey and Joseph Dwyer.
Bill was laid to rest with his mother, Florence Munsey on September 7, 2022 at Forestdale Cemetery.
