WORCESTER —NOTEorious won three of the four awards presented to the singers at Sunday’s Varsity Vocals ICHSA semifinal competition but it wasn’t enough to automatically send the NRHS a cappella group to the finals in New York.

Placing second overall, the award for Best Vocalist was won by Eulalia Agganis while Sophie Donovan won Best Arrangement and the entire group won Best Choreography during the competition held at Mechanics Hall in Worcester against nine other high school groups from throughout Massachusetts and New York state.

But it’s not the end of the line in the 2024 international competition for these high school stars. As the second place winners they earned the opportunity to compete for a Wildcard slot in the finals! After a busy weekend of competing they spent their time after school on Monday putting together a Wildcard video for evaluation by the judges.

The will find out the results by this Saturday, March 30 and hope to be able to announce that they’ll be off to NYC to compete in the ICHSA Finals at their Sing Fling fundraiser being held at NRHS next Thursday, April 4 at 7 p.m.

NOTEorious has also been accepted into BOSSINGS, a college competition being held in Boston April 19-20. “They have to rewrite a new set and will compete and take master classes all weekend long,” noted their director, Allison Kane.
