NORTH READING —As a follow-up to the transition back to full in-person learning likely to occur in April, per ongoing revisions to COVID-19 guidelines issued by the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), local school administrators have created a survey for parents and guardians.

According to a letter sent to parents, guardians and families on the blog written by Superintendent Dr. Patrick Daly, the survey “includes very important questions about a return to school this spring as well as critical information about school buses and start times for our planning for the 2021-22 school year.”

Although the results are non-binding, Daly states: “The more information we have from our parents, guardians, and families the more informed our plan will become for returning students this spring and for preparing for the next school year.”

The superintendent also pointed out that based on the latest information provided by DESE, the hybrid model now in use by the NRPS will not likely continue once full in-person instruction begins.

“There would be a full remote option for the remainder of this school year for those students who select to continue in that mode, though it may look slightly different than what we have in place now depending upon a variety of factors,” Daly stated.
