Dear Editor:

We cordially invite everyone in North Reading to join the youth of North Reading at a March for Social Justice, at Ipswich River Park, this Saturday, July 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. See https://www.facebook.com/NRY4A for details.

While the author of this letter is not a youth, I am the proud parent of one of the North Reading Youth For Antiracism (NRY4A) founders.  For the March for Social Justice, I have been given a volunteer assignment of publicity.  The youth have asked for assistance as the event date is closing in…

The organizers plan a few short speakers at Ipswich River Park followed by a one-mile “march” to the Common.  Attendees can skip the walk if that would be too much for reasons of time, heat, young children, physical limitations, etc.  Permits have been properly filed with North Reading authorities and the youth leadership is passionate but peaceful and respectful.

Please bring water and wear black if possible.

With thanks for your time,

Kathy O’Donnell-Bustin

Editor’s note: Due to multiple postponements related to both weather and site availability for the March for Social Justice beyond the control of the organizers, the following letter did not make our print edition this week, but we wanted to help NRY4A get the word out to our readers through our social media platform in advance of their event on Saturday.
