WORLD KINDNESS DAY inspired first-grader Colton Hemingway to host a Clean Up event at his school, the L.D. Batchelder School, on Nov. 13. Over 50 North Reading residents and Batch Bulldogs, including parents, neighbors, teachers and YMCA counselors, came to help clean up the playground, school yard and surrounding area. Stopping by to visit Colton and his mom Erika during the event was Minority Leader Brad Jones who donated trash bags, gloves and trash grabbers to help make the day a success. Colton hopes this event will continue year after year and inspire the townspeople to keep our schools and public areas clean. (Courtesy Photo)
