WAKEFIELD — Paul M. Malonson, 75, of Wakefield, passed away on Sept. 24 following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Paul was a loving son, husband, father and brother. He had a love for life and loved to travel, loved Aruba, his RV and Hampton Beach with his family.
Paul was a lifelong resident of Wakefield and after serving his country in the United States Army he served on the Wakefield Fire Department for 32 years.
He was also an exceptional husband and father and was truly loved.
Paul was the beloved husband of Sally C. (Russo) Malonson for 53 years. He was the father of Kimberly Malonson of Wakefield, Kathy Malonson and dear family friend Lauren Alterio of Saugus. He was the brother of Claire LaFrazia and her late husband Pat of Wakefield, Charles Malonson and his wife Pam of California and Christine Appleman and her husband Harron of New York. He was the brother-in-law of James Russo and his wife Maria of California. Nieces and nephews Laura McGrath and her husband Matthew, Denise Nealon and her husband Scott, Andrea Sarro and her husband Joe and the late Frank LaFrazia. Paul was the dear son of the late Edward M. Malonson and Mary E. (Bennett) Malonson.
The funeral will be from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (Route 28), Stoneham, on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrating Paul’s Eternal Life in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
Interment in Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
