MELROSE — Richard A. Gallucci, 73, passed away at Sandlewood in Oxford on March 21. He was born in Arlington on September 14, 1943 to the late Edmund and Doris (Fitzgerald) Gallucci. He was raised in Arlington, graduated from Arlington High School, Class of 1960, and entered the U.S. Air Force and served his country with pride during the Vietnam War. Mr. Gallucci has been a Melrose resident for over 40 years. He was a mechanic at his father’s gas station, Gallucci Gulf Station in Arlington for over 20 years, eventually retiring as the owner. Richard loved working on his lawn and in his garden, enjoyed cooking, tennis, skiing and bowling. He had a great sense of humor, loved the holidays and was a big Boston sports fan. Mr. Gallucci was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen F. “Kathy” (Kenerson) Gallucci. He was the loving father of Cynthia Brier and her husband John of Hebron, CT; Sharon Mastrangelo and her husband Stephen of Hopkinton; Rick Gallucci of Concord, NH, and Brian Gallucci and his wife Khadijah of Wilmington. He was the brother of Edmund Gallucci and his wife Mary Lou and Glenn Gallucci and his wife Lorraine, all of Florida. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Monday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a service at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose will follow.
