WAKEFIELD — Ruth Elizabeth (Cooper) Carroll, 99, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Daniels House in Reading.
Born in Stoneham on July 22, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Brickley) Cooper.
Mrs. Carroll was a member of the first graduating class of St. Joseph School in Wakefield and later graduated from Wakefield High School. She was also a member of St. Joseph Parish.
She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer Raymond Carroll and the late Vincent Roscio. She was the loving mother of Paul Carroll and his wife Nancilee of The Villages, Florida; David Carroll and his late wife Ruth of Wilmington; Kathleen Baxter and her husband Robert of Pepperell; Sheila Parr and her husband David of Wakefield; Susan LeDuc and her husband William of Rochester, New Hampshire; and the late Joan, Thomas, and Christopher Carroll. She was the mother-in-law of Cheryl Carroll of Wakefield. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4 p.m.
