Daytime ramp closure will occur on Tuesday, April 21 and on Wednesday, April 22, from 9:00 a.m., until 4:00 p.m.

SAUGUS – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will temporarily close the ramp from Lynn Fells Parkway eastbound to Route 1 southbound in Saugus. The ramp closure will occur on Tuesday, April 21 and on Wednesday, April 22, from 9:00 a.m., until 4:00 p.m. This temporary traffic impact is necessary to allow crews to safely and effectively conduct construction operations including new sidewalks and wheelchair ramps.

Traffic on the Lynn Fells Parkway eastbound heading toward Route 1 southbound will be detoured as follows:

·        Turn right onto Route 1 northbound exit

·        Turn right at Route 1 northbound to Walnut Street westbound exit

·        Turn right from Walnut Street westbound onto Route 1 southbound

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advance message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

This work is part of a $12.2 million-dollar resurfacing project along Route 1 which is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2020.

MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
