WAKEFIELD — Voters at the November 16 Annual Town Meeting will consider a Warrant of eight articles. 

Among them is Article 4, “MBTA Communities Multi-Family Overlay District,” which proposes an amendment to Wakefield’s zoning bylaws. There is an upcoming infosession, several coffee hours and an infopack to help residents better understand this proposal in advance of the meeting. 

Town Meeting will take place on Saturday, November 16 at 8 a.m. in the Galvin Middle School, 525 Main St.

The infopack reviews upcoming events to learn more and ask questions; information about Town Meeting; information about the law; Wakefield’s proposal and district maps; and properties included in the districts. The package is available digitally at wakefield.ma.us/mbta-zoning and printed versions are available in the front entrance to Town Hall, 1 Lafayette St.

Upcoming events

Public infosession: Thursday, November 7 at 6 p.m. at the Public Safety Building Community Room, 1 Union St. The MBTA 40A subcommittee will host an informational meeting so the community can learn about the proposal. In person guests can attend at 6 p.m. in the Public Safety Building’s Community Room. Virtual participants can join via Zoom. Meeting ID: 828 7088 8000, Passcode: 946939.
Coffee hours: Community members are free to drop in at these informal events to ask a question or view the related documents and maps on
Friday, November 8 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Americal Civic Center’s Heritage Room, 467 Main St.; Thursday, November 14 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Town Hall’s first-floor conference room, 1 Lafayette St.; and Friday, November 15 from 9 to 10 a.m. at 30 Converse St.
