Avid outdoorsman, loved golfing, hunting and fishing

WAKEFIELD — Edward W. Campbell, Jr., 76, of Wakefield died on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Edward was born in Boston on March 21, 1943 and was the son of the late Edward W. and Mary E. (White) Campbell.
Edward was raised in Boston and was a graduate of St. Columbkille High School, Class of 1961. He was a Boston Police Officer for 35 years and was a master trainer of the K-9 Division for the Boston Police Department. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren whether it be cooking out with the family or supporting the grandchildren sporting events he was always on the go. He was an avid outdoors man who loved Boston sports, golfing, hunting, and fishing.
Edward was the beloved husband of Patricia L. (Bird) Campbell. He was the loving father of Craig S. Campbell and his wife Lauren of Wakefield and Edward W. Campbell III and his wife Jenifer of Peabody. He was the grandfather of Edward W. Campbell IV., Sydney Campbell, Colin Campbell and Rory Campbell. He was the brother of Catherine Johns and her husband Frank of Conn., and the late Anne F. Harmon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
