WAKEFIELD — Joyce Virginia Miller Jones, 87, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, friend was born on August 27, 1932 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital to Idella May Chase Miller and Louis Alexander Miller. After a long battle with Dementia Joyce has passed on September 17, 2019.
Joyce Jones, wife of the late Robert R. Jones is most-lovingly remembered as the loving and caring mother, to a blended family of six; loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Joyce was raised in Melrose and later made Wakefield her lifelong home. Always caring and thinking of others Joyce always knew the birthdays and anniversaries of all her loved ones. She enjoyed cooking and hosting friends and family, laughing over card games and at cookouts. Joyce loved to read a good book in the sun whether she was in Dennisport or St. Augustine, Fla.
A celebration of life and remembrance will be held Saturday, October 12, at the Heritage Room, Americal Civic Center, 467 Main St., Wakefield, from 3 – 6 p.m.
