Had a passion for his model trains and music collection

WAKEFIELD — Scott David Huard, 52, a lifelong resident of Wakefield died at his home after losing his battle with cancer on July 26, 2020.
Soon after his 1987 graduation from Wakefield Memorial High School he signed on as an employee of the Wakefield Department of Public Works. He just loved his job, the camaraderie of his co-workers, as well as the many interactions with business owners and customers while working the downtown. Scott was kind, oftentimes generous to a fault, and a genuine good guy. Up until a few months ago, he would often be seen walking (sometimes great distances) around town and beyond with the aid of his walker. He always loved his independence and treasured those walks. He also had a passion for his model trains and his music collection.
Scott was predeceased by his mother, June (Guttadauro, Huard) Todd and survived by his father, Roger (wife Judy) Huard of Sandown, N.H., along with uncles, Tom Guttadauro and Rick Guttadauro of Wakefield as well as aunts, Anne Goodrich of Vermont and Claire Batchelder of Florida.
The family would like to thank all the people who have befriended Scott and the agencies that have supported him over the years. A particular acknowledgement is sent out to the Wakefield DPW staff who took the time to post a very touching and much appreciated tribute to Scott in the Wakefield Item on August 3. He would have loved it. We loved it. Many, many thanks.
Finally, a special thanks to Wakefield Police Officer Amy Rando. You served as his advocate, advisor, counselor, and most importantly he came to know you as his friend. What a wonderful asset for the Town of Wakefield and the Wakefield Police Department – you are a gem. We are so grateful for you and all you did to help Scott within the community; he was blessed to have you in his life. Words are not enough, but thank you, thank you.
Scott will be buried in Forest Glade Cemetery at a date still to be determined. Burial will be private.
