WAKEFIELD — Since the beginning of the spring season, the Wakefield and Melrose youth soccer programs have teamed up to show support and appreciation for our local frontline healthcare workers through the Healthcare Heroes Fundraiser in collaboration with and to benefit the professionals and caregivers of MelroseWakefield Hospital. Families have had the option to donate and/or take a picture or create a short video thanking our frontline professionals and caregivers.

Both programs are excited to announce that in total, $7,770 was raised. This money will be used to fund the Care Carts for the summer. The Care Carts stock items such as snacks, beverages and personal care items and are available to professionals and caregivers across departments and shifts within the hospital.

Both soccer organizations wanted to make sure the funds reached the most people to show their true appreciation for the work our frontline heroes have done. There is still time to donate if you didn’t get the chance by visiting www.melrosewakefield.org/melrose-and-wakefield-soccer-fundraiser/
