LYNNFIELD — Lucille B. McCarron, 86, of Lynnfield and formerly of Wakefield, died Monday, Feb. 16, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House.
Born in Lowell on Oct. 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William and Therese (Lauziere) Berard.
Mrs. McCarron was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School as well as Salem State Teachers’ College. She received two master’s degrees from Salem State College, one in Education and one in Geography.
She was a retired teacher from Revere High School. She was an active participant in 75 Elder Hostel programs in North America. She was an avid reader, skier and patron of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Mrs. McCarron was the beloved wife of the late John P. McCarron. She was the loving mother of Richard J. McCarron and Ronald P. McCarron of Wakefield, Denise M. O’Brien and her husband Patrick and Michelle Riley and her husband Joseph, all of Lynnfield. She was the sister of Louis Berard, Jeanette LeCourse, Florence Reynolds, Henriette Chenelle, Pauline Page, Rollande Nagle and the late George Berard, Helen Denommee and Madeline Boulanger. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
