MELROSE — The City of Melrose and Mayor Rob Dolan will host a Veteran Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, November 18, at 7 p.m. at the Melrose Elks Lodge on Myrtle Street. The meeting is open to all Melrose veterans, their families and their supporters.

The goal of the meeting is to receive input from the Melrose veteran community in order to better steer the direction of Melrose Veteran Services. Officials from the Melrose Veteran Advisory Board and all local veteran organizations will also be sending representatives to help guide discussions.

“One of our major goals this year is to tie our planning to the needs of the local veteran community,” Veteran Director Ryan McLane said. “We want to be responsive and to make sure that all veteran voices are a part of the process.”

Topics of discussion will include veteran monument installation and restorations, programming honoring our veteran community, improvements in the veteran benefit process and strategies for improved outreach. There will also be a question and answer session and a chance for veterans to comment openly.

“We want as many veterans as possible at the meeting,” McLane said. “The best way to share our message is to have veterans communicate with one another.”
