LYNNFIELD The first time the Lynnfield High field hockey team faced rival North Reading back on Sept. 9, the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The rematch took place on a cool fall day on Monday afternoon at Lynnfield High and the Pioneers were able to edge the visiting Hornets 3-2.

LYNNFIELD The Lynnfield High boys’ soccer team blanked guest Amesbury 1-0 on Oct. 8. It was the Pioneers second shutout win in a row as they improved to 7-4-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the Cape Ann League. They are in second place behind unbeaten Newburyport in the CAL Kinney Division.
