WAKEFIELD — Edith G. (Rowe) LaVigueur-Gallagher, 93 of Wakefield died on Thursday, March 12, in Melrose.
Edith was born in Winthrop on Nov. 13, 1921 and was the beloved daughter of the late George C. and Louise (Marion) Rowe. She was raised in Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School, Class of 1939.
She had been a Wakefield resident since 1964 and worked as a broker for the Allen Crest Real Estate Agency of Wakefield.
She was the wife of the late Paul F. LaVigueur and John J. Gallagher II. She was the loving mother of Paul LaVigueur of New Hampshire, Dianne LaVigueur Carisella and her husband Jim Carisella of Louisiana and the late Peter LaVigueur. She was the stepmother of John Gallagher III of Florida. She was the sister of Paul Rowe of Maine and Maryann Keith of Winthrop and the late George, Charles and Dorothy Rowe, Lillian Ellis, Louise Howell, Lucille F. Fannon and Virginia Christopher. She was also the beloved grandmother of Brian and Steven LaVigueur, Olivia Carisella and the late Jay Carisella and Jon Paul LaVigueur.
Her funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Monday at 11 a.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will be private.
