Gloria was a warm, loving, and sociable woman. She was very outgoing, and would strike up conversation with anyone she met. An exceptional mother, she was very involved in her son’s life. Spending time with her family was paramount, especially anytime spent with her grandson who was her pride and joy and kept her going these last few years.
Always interested in languages, she was an avid reader, loved mystery novels, and was a regular at the Melrose Public Library book sales. In her free time, Gloria loved dancing, especially line dancing at the Senior Center. She also enjoyed going to Foxwoods to play the slots, or local restaurants for Keno, and enjoyed time with family and friends at Twin Rivers. She loved doing crossword puzzles, had a love for angels, and most animals, in particular elephants.
Gloria, along with her husband Frank, took great delight in the natural landscape on their road trips along Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. With a kind spirit, Gloria always looked for the best in people, and was a very giving, generous woman to family, friends and her favorite charitable organizations. She will be lovingly remembered.
Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Moccia Sr. with whom she shared 28 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Frank A. Moccia Jr. and his wife Doreen of Melrose. She was the cherished grandmother of Alexander Moccia. She was the loving sister of Tootsie Correia and her late husband Tony, Pat Catrone, and the late John Catrone and his surviving wife Ann, and the late Robert Catrone and his surviving wife Marie Tocco. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
