MERRIMACK, N.H. — Joan Eileen (Martin) Clark, 82, of Merrimack, N.H., passed away in her home on Tuesday, Feb. 3, after a long illness.
Born in Melrose, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Marion (Marston) Martin and was a longtime resident of Merrimack, N.H.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph B.S. Clark, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage; her brother, William Martin; her brother-in-law, Gerald Durkee, and her sister-in-law, Martha Martin. She is survived by her sister Elsie Durkee and sister-in-law Dorothy K Clark; her daughter Janice Clark; her daughter Joyce Brown and husband Henry; her son James Clark and wife June; 11 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many supportive friends.
She previously lived an active life and enjoyed cooking, camping, square dancing, Eastern Star and NASCAR races. She loved the ocean and her trips to Halifax, Canada.
She was a proud member of the INSPIRE group. She was known as a great listener and provided phone calls of encouragement and cheer to friends whenever they needed it. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her pride and joy were her family and friends, along with her two cats.
