WAKEFIELD — Lucy R. Costanza, 96, of Wakefield died on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Woodbriar Health Center in Wilmington.
Born in Boston on May 23, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Acurzia (Sacco) Nicolosi.
Mrs. Costanza had been a Wakefield resident for 60 years. She was raised and educated in Everett. Mrs. Costanza was a member of the Saugus V.F.W. and had enjoyed traveling.
She was the wife of the late James W. Costanza. Mrs. Costanza is survived by her two sons: James W. Costanza Jr. and his wife Lucy of Wilmington and Daniel C. Costanza of Florida; her daughter Jane M. Crowley and her husband Stephen of Stoneham; her five grandchildren: Michelle Kane, Joy Costanza, Jill Healey, Stephen Crowley and Christine De Ford, and her six great-grandchildren: Hayden, Julia, Liam, Nicholas, Chase and Elliott. She was predeceased by her grandson Steven Costanza; her two sisters, Josephine Cantone and Rose Costanza, and her brother Joseph Nicolosi.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
