LYNNFIELD — The boys’ cross-country team won the Cape Ann League Baker Division title for the first time in the program’s history on Oct. 10.

The boys’ team (5-3) won the small division title after narrowing defeating Ipswich 27-28 and crushing Georgetown 19-36 on Oct. 10. The low score in cross-country wins.

“The boys ran very well on the unexpected very warm day,” said head coach Joe DiBiase. “We have never won the small division before. It’s a great accomplishment.”

Sophomore John Astrofsky broke the tape first in the tri-meet (16:40). Senior captain Stephen Dwyer finished fifth in the meet (17:19). Senior captain David Blake was sixth overall (17:26).

Senior captain Joe Fabrizio finished ninth in the meet (17:47). Sophomore Mike Madden was 10th overall (17:59). Junior Sam Pifko finished 18th during the meet (18:55). Sophomore Dylan Pool was 20th overall (19:00).

“The boys won the meet by the closest of margins,” said DiBiase.

Girls’ results

The girls’ team (2-6) defeated Georgetown 28-31, but lost 33-27 to Ipswich.

Senior captain Annie Olsen finished fifth overall (21:11). Junior Elizabeth St Andre was sixth in the meet (21:35). Junior Cassidy Shone finished 10th overall (22:44). Senior Keira Rothwell was 11th in the meet (23:08).

Junior Sarah Deschenes was 14th overall (23:34). Senior Lucy Madden finished 15th in the meet (24:05). Freshman Julia Seelig was 16th overall (24:09).
