WAKEFIELD – The Board of Directors of Wakefield Main Streets, Inc., recently announced a change in its slate of officers. During a recent Board meeting, former Vice President Bob Mailhoit was appointed President of the organization and Director Susan Wetmore was appointed vice president.
Mailhoit will replace Paul DiNocco as president. Paul, a founding director of Wakefield Main Streets, Inc, has served as president since 2014.
“I resigned as president of Wakefield Main Streets and as a Director to focus on my responsibilities as Chair of the Board of Selectmen,” DiNocco said. “I have enjoyed working with Wakefield Main Streets, Inc. and look forward to seeing the many great things that we’ve worked on coming to fruition.”
“We are grateful to Paul and thank him for all he has done for Wakefield Main Streets and for the community,” Bob Mailhoit said. “His insight has been a tremendous help in getting the organization off the ground and moving this initiative in a positive direction.”
Wakefield Main Streets, Inc. recently launched a successful Patronicity program through Mass Development and, with the help of sponsors, reached their goal to raise funds for benches, tree lighting and directional kiosks in the downtown area. The organization plans to continue to work to revitalize downtown Wakefield with other projects.
