MELROSE NATIVE AND MHS soccer alum Emily Giovanardi (R) became a national champion this weekend in Austin, TX, with her team from the University of Colorado at Boulder when they claimed the NIRSA National collegiate club soccer championship in the Women’s Open division. Colorado won all of their games and beat several strong teams in Arkansas, Central Michigan, Arizona, UC Davis and Illinois along the way to the final where they bested a strong Missouri team in penalty kicks.
