SAUGUS — Richard E. “Rudy” Taylor, 76, of Saugus and formerly of Wakefield, died on Sunday, April 3 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Malden on Jan. 11, 1940, he was the son of the late William W. and Frances M. (Connors) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1958. He had been a Saugus resident for the past 45 years. Mr. Taylor was the owner of R.E. Taylor Pile Driving Co. He was a member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club and the Wakefield Elks Lodge 1276.
Mr. Taylor was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt.
He was the husband of the late Joanne M. (Smith) Taylor. Mr. Taylor is survived by his two daughters, Linda M. Kyes and her husband Kevin and Lisa A. Trainor, all of Lynnfield, and his four devoted grandchildren: Devon and Cole Trainor and Kaitlin and Ryan Kyes. He was predeceased by his brother William F. Taylor and his sister Dorothy Doyle.
His funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
