Licensed real estate broker, reservist with Army Corps of Engineers
WAKEFIELD — Ronald Charles Beckett of Wakefield, formerly of Reading, died Sept. 24, at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton. He was 65 years of age. Ronald was born in Melrose on Oct, 25, 1948.
He is the son of Ruth D. (Lofberg) Beckett of Reading and the late Arthur E. Beckett. Ronald attended Reading schools and was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School class of 1966. He attended Babson College, where he played hockey, and graduated in 1970. In the mid 1970s Ronald was a reservist with the Army Corps of Engineers. He was also a licensed Real Estate Broker.
Besides being survived by his mother, Ronald was the devoted brother of Wesley A. Beckett and his wife Patricia Murphy of Wakefield and Wayne A. Beckett of Reading. He is also survived by several loving cousins. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn Street), Reading, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
