WAKEFIELD — Ronald P. Fazio, 76, of Wakefield died Sunday, July 19, in Melrose.
He was born in Melrose on Jan. 8, 1939 and was the son of the late Alfred J. and Mary (Confalone) Fazio.
Mr. Fazio was a lifelong Wakefield resident He was a retired machinist of the D.S. Greene Company of Wakefield after many years of service. He had also worked at the Wakefield Bowladrome.
Mr. Fazio served proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the destroyer, USS Warrington. He enjoyed many days of baseball at Nasella Park.
Mr. Fazio was the beloved husband of the late Janet L. (Green) Fazio. He was the loving father of Rhonda L. Holt and her husband Robert of Reading, Dennis P. Fazio and his wife Dianne of Melrose and the late John A. Fazio and his wife Venetia of New Mexico. He was the brother of Roy Fazio and his wife Marjorie of Seabrook, N.H. and the late Irene MacLeod and her husband Malcolm of Connecticut. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Kevin Holt, Christina, Samantha and Nicholas Fazio.
His funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
