WAKEFIELD — Tomorrow night, the School Committee will trek into Boston for its annual meeting with the families of METCO students attending Wakefield schools. The meeting will take place at the Wesley United Methodist Church at 1076 Washington St. in Dorchester.

The meeting’s agenda includes an update from Wakefield’s new METCO Director Glavia Smith with School Superintendent Douglas Lyons also offering comments.

Lyons is also expected to provide an update on the 2020-2021 School Year Calendar. School Committee members received a draft of the calendar in their Feb. 5 meeting packet. A vote is expected at the School Committee’s next meeting in Wakefield on Feb. 25.

Lyons will also report on a proposed student field trip to Spain, with a vote of the School Committee expected.

Wakefield Academy Director Estelle Burdick is expected to provide a report on Wakefield Academy summer programming.

Chairman Christopher Callanan will provide a facilities update.

Other routine matters on tomorrow night’s agenda include budget reports and the approval of payroll warrants.

Chairs of the various subcommittees, including Finance and Facilities (Callanan) Labor and Personnel (Thomas Markham), Student Services (Aimee Purcell) and Policy and Communications (Suzy Veilleux) will also provide updates.
