WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League’s girls’ basketball coaches met recently to vote on All-Stars for the 2022-23 season. The Middlesex League Freedom Division champion Wakefield Warriors had four All-Stars named: senior captain Emma Shinney (MVP/All-Conference), senior captain Mia Forti, junior captain Emma Quinn and sophomore Brooklyn Calder.

WAKEFIELD — The Winter sports season at Wakefield High featured plenty of highlights and strong state tournament runs.

The Warriors had 35 All-Stars named across seven winter sports.

SALEM — Chris Macdonald, of Wakefield, just completed his final season of basketball at Salem State University where he was a four-year starter for the Vikings.

Macdonald came to SSU after a successful career at Malden Catholic where he was an all-conference player, Agganis All-Star, team captain and MVP.
