Korean War Air Force veteran, worked at Ocean View in Nahant
WAKEFIELD — John J. Mancini, 84, of Wakefield died on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Revere on June 7, 1930, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Sarah (DeTillio) Mancini.
Mr. Mancini was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1948. He was a Korean War Air Force veteran. Mr. Mancini was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield. He was a former bartender at the Ocean View in Nahant for 30 years and had also worked at Star Market as the meat display person.
Mr. Mancini is survived by his wife Audrey (Graziano) Mancini; his two sons Steven Mancini of Wakefield and Jack Mancini of Saugus; his two daughters Susan Lucey of Wakefield and Laurie Mordaunt and her husband Michael of Saugus; his two sisters Mary DeThomas and Evelyn Pappidinis, both of Saugus. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Brendan, Nicholas, Lisa and Jackie. Mr. Mancini was predeceased by his son Michael Mancini and his two brothers Anthony Mancini and Daniel Mancini.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
