Oliphant-webWAKEFIELD — Lorraine I. (Daley) Oliphant, 71, of Wakefield died Friday, July 14 at her home.

She was born on July 12, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Russell and Inez (Murray) Daley.

Lorraine was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1964. She was a resident of Wakefield since 1969. Lorraine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards.

She was the beloved wife of Robert C. Oliphant. She was the loving mother of Dawn M. Buck and her husband Robert of Methuen, Jonathan R. Oliphant and his wife Samantha, and Christine L. Ponzo and her husband Joseph all of Stoneham. Lorraine was the sister of Ella Belmore and Russell Daley both of Wilmington, Robert Daley of Boxford, Stan Daley of Florida and James Daley of Tewksbury. She was the nurturing grandmother of Justin, Ryan, Olivia, Michael, Courtney, Alexa and Emma.

A funeral service for Lorraine will be held at the First Parish Congregational Church, 25 Woburn St., Reading on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
