LYNNFIELD — Beginning on Tuesday, May 26, Town Hall will be open to the public by appointment only during normal working hours.

Town Hall will be open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Individual department availability may vary.

Those wishing to make an appointment should call or email the department they wish to visit. Visitors to Town Hall will be required to wear a mask unless they are exempt due to a medical condition. A confidential log will be maintained of all people who enter Town Hall to enable contact tracing should it become necessary. The log will include a person’s name, address and telephone number.

When responding to a request for an appointment, a town employee will provide people with a date, time and instructions on whom to call once a person arrives at Town Hall, which will remain locked.

“When you arrive, call the number provided and the person with whom you have an appointment will let you in,” said Assistant Town Administrator Bob Curtin in a statement.

Curtin said each office will have hand sanitizer available and Town Hall employees will take every precaution to ensure that a person’s visit will be as safe as possible. Town employees will be wearing masks and will be maintaining proper social distancing whenever possible. New measures have been implemented in town offices to limit the potential spread of infectious diseases.

Visitors should enter Town Hall from the side door next to the parking lot, unless they need to use the ramp for access. Those visitors should park in the reserved parking space between Town Hall and the police station, and they should inform the office that they are using that entrance.

“Stay at home if you are sick,” said Curtin. “Town Hall will work with you to provide the information you require. The secure drop box at the parking lot entrance is still available. The town of Lynnfield continues to work to serve the public while following state policies and guidelines to ensure that both residents and employees remain safe and healthy. Thank you for your cooperation.”

If people have any questions regarding this process, they should call the Town Administrator’s office at (781)-334-9410.
