ObitMaloney-webWAKEFIELD — Maureen A. Maloney, 75, of Wakefield and formerly of Stoneham died Friday, Aug. 7 in Melrose.

She was born in Winchester on Sept. 5, 1939 and was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Blake) Kelly.

Mrs. Maloney was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1957, and later attended Bridgewater State College. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1964 was a retired Realtor for the former office of McConville and Gillis Realtors of Wakefield.

She was also a member of St. Joseph Church.

Mrs. Maloney was proud of her Irish heritage and was devoted to her three grandchildren.

Mrs. Maloney was the beloved wife of Roger G. Maloney. She was the loving mother of Michael J. Maloney and his wife Ann and Anne M. Lucey and her husband Paul, all of Wakefield. She was the sister of Karen Kelly of Dennis, Margo Grady of Maine, Kathleen Lynch of Reading and the late Eileen Mengotto. She was also the proud and loving grandmother of Brett, Owen and Timothy.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 10:30 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, at 11:30. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.
